Gangtok Overview
Gangtok is a bustling, friendly hill station, and the capital of the Himalayan state of Sikkim. Lachung Overview
Lachung is a beautiful little town located in the valley of same name, surrounded by tall snookered mountains. It's the most popular destination in North Sikkim, many more tourists visit here than Lachen. Most tourists stay in their hotels for 1 night and also eat there since there are not many restaurants or even shacks outside of hotels.It is the town of Sikkim which consists of various snow capped mountains, sparkling streams, peaks, breathtaking waterfalls and much more. It is the perfect destination which offers you pleasant holidays.
Pelling Overview
Pelling is a small hill town of western Sikkim perched at an altitude of 6,800ft with magnificent views of Kanchenjunga peaks.The major attractions that can be visited include Sangachoeling Monastery, Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchenjunga Falls, Singshore Bridge, Pemayangtse Gompa, etc. Pelling is a budding tourist destination and a major holiday retreat for tourists and nature lovers.Pelling is a major location for trekkers and mountaineers who prefer to set their base here before moving on to the high altitude trek routes into the snow capped Himalayas. Pelling with several Buddhist monasteries has heavily influenced by Tibetan Buddhism.
Lachen Overview
Lachen is a town in North Sikkim district in the Indian state of Sikkim. It is located at an elevation of 2,750 metres. The name Lachen means "big pass". Lachen is the sister village of Lachung in North Sikkim and is the base for tours to Gurudongmar lake and Chopta valley.you visit the Lachen Monastery. The Ngodub Choling monastery overlooking the village is one of the oldest monasteries of Sikkim being constructed in 1858. The monastery follows Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. There is a large ground in front of the monastery which offers panoramic view of Lachen village and surrounding hills.
Namchi Overview
Located about 78 km away from the city of Gangtok, Sikkim. Famous for being home to the World’s largest statue of Padmasambhava, the patron saint of Sikkim, the city is also known for its Buddhist Monasteries and Beautiful Mountainous terrain.Namchi, which means ‘top of the sky’, is a picturesque spot, blessed with the bounties of nature. Itinerary Detail
Day 01: Arrival at Njp railway station / Bagdogra Airport(IXB) and transfer to Gangtok
Arrive at the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB) where our representative will come to receive you. 4 hour drive to Gangtok where you will check in at the Hotel and spend the rest of the day at ease. Overnight stay at Gangtok Hotel.
Day 02:Gangtok Local Sightseeing
After Breakfast Visit Ban Jhakri Waterfall,Nehru Botanical Garden. There is a concrete pathway to take a stroll through the garden with many subtropical trees & plantations. Shanti View Point,spend a few minutes to watch the great views of Gangtok township at the opposite mountain.Enchey Monastery An old renowned monastery founded in 1800s. Ganesh Tok Cable ride (Ropeway) great 1km cable car ride across three stations from Deorali to Tashiling , Institute of Tibetology renowned institute on Tibetan Language & culture.Tashi View Point Excellent sunrise and Kanchenjunga viewing area .Overnight stay at Gangtok
Day 03:Gangtok to Lachen Transfer
After breakfast, Excursion to Lachen , On the way Visit Mangan,is the capital of the district of North Sikkim in the Indian state of Sikkim.Chungthang valley, it stands at the confluence of the rivers Lachen chu and Lachung chu. Chungthang valleyis considered to be a holy place which has been blessed by Guru Padmasambhava, the patron saint of Sikkim. There is a rock here which to this day bears the hand and footprints of Padmasambhava.There is a small patch of land here from which grows paddy every year. The nature defying miracle is believed to be the blessing of Guru Padmasambhava who sprinkled a handful of grain on the spot which has sprouted paddy ever since. Overnight stay at Lachen.
DAY 04:Lachen local sightseeing and transfer to Lachung
After breakfast, Visit Chopta valley is famous as the valley of flowers, the Chopta Valley is popular for its riot of colors during summer months.This valley is unexplored and untouched, as a very few tourists travel to this destination despite its popularity.Gurudongmar lake is a high altitude lake close to Tibet boarder in North Sikkim. It is the land of Yaks, blue ships and other high altitude animals of Sikkim and Tibet. It is believed that believed to posses the miraculous power of granting children to issueless couples.Thangu valley,due to its high altitude located of around 3962 m, it is covered in the blanket of snow almost all the time. The valley comprises alpine meadows that are flanked by shimmering water of River Teesta and wooden houses, offering a picturesque sight to witness. and transfer to Lachung , Overnight stay at Lachung.
DAY 05:Lachung local sightseeing and transfer to Gangtok
After breakfast , Visit Seven sister waterfall ,is a serene waterfall has a small footbridge crosses over the stream to give the visitor a better view and photographic break. A further climb up the steps leads to another kadeloscopic view of the waterfalls. Bhimnala waterfall nicknamed as the Amitabh Bachhan Falls because of its height. It is one of the tallest waterfalls in Sikkim.Yumthang valley,known as Valley of Flowers sanctuary, is a nature sanctuary with river, hot springs, yaks and grazing pasture on rolling meadows surrounded by the Himalayan mountains.Zero point,which is situated at an altitude of 15,300 ft which is above the sea level, Yumesamdong or Zero point and it is nature personified at an altitude which is further up and about 23kms from Yumthang. Transfer to Gangtok , Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 06:Excursion to Tsomgo Lake , Baba Mandir,Nathula pass(optional)
Excursion to Tsomgo Lake ,Baba Mandir,located between Nathula and Jelepla pass at an altitude of 13,123 ft and about 52kms from Gangtok.Dedicated to Harbhajan Singh was a Sentry of Punjab Regiment and was posted here as part of border patrol force. In October 1968 he disappeared while on scout duty.After a few days he reappeared in the dreams of one of his sentry colleagues and asked him to make a memorial here on his name.While Harbhajan Singh is dead since long, his live memories have resulted in several actions from the army which is rarely seen. Out of sheer belief that he his spirit is still around, he has been promoted to the rank of honorary Captain.Nathula pass(optional), is a mountain pass in the Himalayas in East Sikkim district. It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region.Nathula pass is more remembered for battle of Nathula as shown in movie JP Dutta's Paltan.
Day 07:Gangtok to Namchi, Namchi Local Sightseeing
After breakfast excursion to Namchi and visit Namchi Helipad , Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir & Pilgrimage Center dedicated to praise Shirdi Sai,the gold accents temple is surrounded by a beautiful garden from where one could get a panoramic view of Mt. Khangchendzonga.Char Dham ,is huge pilgrimage cum cultural complex developed by the Sikkim Government to promote Religious. Samdruptse hill,the 'wish fulfilling hill' is just 5 km away from Namchi.This epic hill is ornamented with a giant statue of the Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche); the patron saint of Sikkim who has been showering its blessings since more than 1,200 years. Namchi Rock Garden,situated in a remote mountain locale reached by car or aerial tram.Over night stay at Namchi.
Day 08: Namchi to Pelling via Ravangla
After breakfast , Excursion to Pelling on the way visit Temi tea garden,is one of the famous tea estate of Southern Sikkim.Ngadak Monastery exudes with charm and spirituality. This monastery located at a short distance from the main town of Namchi was built during the reign of Chogyal Gyurmed Namgyal by Tensung Namgyal as the palace for Her Highness Pendi Ongmu.Tarey Bhir,is located near the small beautiful village called Sadam which falls on the route between Melli( Sikkim) and Namchi. The place is a natural wonder, a perfect place for the people who love adventure. Bhir in a local Nepali language means cliff, and as the name depicts is 3500 feet cliff into the abyss.The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong in South Sikkim district, Sikkim, India. Early breakfast drive to Pelling.Visit Darap valley offers peaceful environment is offbeat travel destination of Sikkim.Rimbi Waterfalls is a scenic waterfall near Darap Village, it is one of the famous waterfalls and among the best places of sightseeing in Pelling. Sewaro Rock Garden is counted amongst the popular picnic spots in Pelling. Offering stunning views of surroundings, it's a delight for nature photographer. Khechopalri wishing Lake,sacred for both Buddhists and Hindus, and is believed to be a wish fulfilling lake.
