Gangtok is a bustling, friendly hill station, and the capital of the Himalayan state of Sikkim. The name Gangtok is derived from the Tibetan word for 'hillside,' and the city currently has a population of around 80,000 - a mixture of indigenous Sikkimese and people of Nepalese and Tibetan ancestry.Gangtok is a popular place with tourists heading for spending their holiday.. The city is a fascinating place to spend a few nights, the winding side alleys hide some unexpected gems, and the main street (MG Marg) is pedestrianized and a pleasant place to take a stroll.
Namchi Overview
Namchi, the capital of South Sikkim is a popular destination in South Sikkim, located at an altitude of 1675 m above sea level.The attraction of Namchi is partially natural and partially man made. The Chardham Temple on the hill top and the Samdruptse statue, are man made attractions that Indian tourists find quite attractive. Even the Namchi market and its well maintained central park is a good place to spend leisurely hours. The main attraction of the place is the statue of Guru Padmasambhava measuring 135 feet, in Samdruptse monastery. Visitors can also glimpse the majestic view of Mt. Khangchendzonga . The Siddhesvara Dham in Namchi has earned reputation for its beauty and is an important place of pilgrimage and visit for tourists.
Nathula pass,Baba Mandir,Tsomgo Lake Overview
Nathu La is a mountain pass in the Himalayas in East Sikkim district. It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The pass, at 4,310 m above mean sea level, forms a part of an offshoot of the ancient Silk Road. Nathu means "listening ears" and La means "pass" in Tibetan
Itinerary Detail
Day 01: Arrival at Njp railway station / Bagdogra Airport(IXB) and transfer to Gangtok
Arrive at the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB) where our representative will come to receive you. 4 hour drive to Gangtok where you will check in at the Hotel and spend the rest of the day at ease. Overnight stay at Gangtok Hotel.
DAY 02:Gangtok local sightseeing
After Breakfast Visit Ban Jhakri Waterfall Nehru Botanical Garden. There is a concrete pathway to take a stroll through the garden with many subtropical trees & plantations. Shanti View Point,spend a few minutes to watch the great views of Gangtok township at the opposite mountain. Enchey Monastery: An old renowned monastery founded in 1800s. Ganesh Tok Cable ride (Ropeway): Great 1km cable car ride across three stations from Deorali to Tashiling , Institute of Tibetology: Renowned institute on Tibetan Language & culture. Tashi View Point: Excellent sunrise and Kanchenjunga viewing area .Overnight stay at Gangtok
DAY 03:Excursion to Tsomgo Lake , Baba Mandir,Nathula pass(optional)
After breakfast start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 kms one way from Gangtok city. Nathula Pass is optional is subject of availability and requirement.Overnight stay at Gangtok
Day 04: Gangtok to Namchi and Back to Gangtok
After breakfast ,Visit Namchi Helipad , Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir & Pilgrimage Center dedicated to praise Shirdi Sai,the gold accents temple is surrounded by a beautiful garden from where one could get a panoramic view of Mt. Khangchendzonga.Char Dham ,is huge pilgrimage cum cultural complex developed by the Sikkim Government to promote Religious. Samdruptse hill,the 'wish fulfilling hill' is just 5 km away from Namchi.This epic hill is ornamented with a giant statue of the Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche); the patron saint of Sikkim who has been showering its blessings since more than 1,200 years. Namchi Rock Garden,rock garden situated in a remote mountain locale reached by car or aerial tram. Temi Tea Garden,is one of the famous tea estate of Southern Sikkim.Overnight Stay in Gangtok.
Day 05: Gangtok to Bagdogra airport / Njp station
After breakfast , Excursion to Bagdogra airport / Njp station . This is the end of trip.
