Gangtok is a bustling, friendly hill station, and the capital of the Himalayan state of Sikkim. Pelling Overview
Pelling is a small hill town of western Sikkim perched at an altitude of 6,800ft with magnificent views of Kanchenjunga peaks.The major attractions that can be visited include Sangachoeling Monastery, Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchenjunga Falls, Singshore Bridge, Pemayangtse Gompa, etc. Pelling is a budding tourist destination and a major holiday retreat for tourists and nature lovers.Pelling is a major location for trekkers and mountaineers who prefer to set their base here before moving on to the high altitude trek routes into the snow capped Himalayas. Itinerary Detail
Day 01: Arrival at Pakyong Airport and transfer to Pelling via Namchi
Arrive at the Pakyong Airport where our representative will come to receive you.After refreshment drive to Pelling via Namchi which is about 132kms.On way visit Namchi Helipad , Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir & Pilgrimage Center dedicated to praise Shirdi Sai,the gold accents temple is surrounded by a beautiful garden from where one could get a panoramic view of Mt. Khangchendzonga.Char Dham ,is huge pilgrimage cum cultural complex developed by the Sikkim Government to promote Religious. Samdruptse hill,the 'wish fulfilling hill' is just 5 km away from Namchi.This epic hill is ornamented with a giant statue of the Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche); the patron saint of Sikkim who has been showering its blessings since more than 1,200 years. Namchi Rock Garden,situated in a remote mountain locale reached by car or aerial tram. Overnight stay at Pelling.
DAY 02:Pelling Local Sightseeing
Early breakfast drive to Pelling.Visit Darap valley offers peaceful environment is offbeat travel destination of Sikkim.Rimbi Waterfalls is a scenic waterfall near Darap Village, it is one of the famous waterfalls and among the best places of sightseeing in Pelling. Sewaro Rock Garden is counted amongst the popular picnic spots in Pelling. Offering stunning views of surroundings, it's a delight for nature photographer. Khechopalri wishing Lake,sacred for both Buddhists and Hindus, and is believed to be a wish fulfilling lake. The local name for the lake is Sho Dzo Sho, which means "Oh Lady, Sit Here".Pemayangtse Monastery is a Buddhist monastery, near Pelling Rabdentse Ruins,remains of Rabdentse was the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim from 1670 to 1814. Kanchenjunga Water fall, is a perennial waterfall that originates high up in the glaciers of Mount Kanchenjunga.Overnight Stay at Pelling.
Day 03:Transfer from Pelling to Gangtok
After breakfast ,excursion to Gangtok,The Capital of Sikkim.Evening free for local Exploration.Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 04:Gangtok Local Sightseeing
After Breakfast Visit Ban Jhakri Waterfall,Nehru Botanical Garden. There is a concrete pathway to take a stroll through the garden with many subtropical trees & plantations. Shanti View Point,spend a few minutes to watch the great views of Gangtok township at the opposite mountain.Enchey Monastery An old renowned monastery founded in 1800s. Ganesh Tok Cable ride (Ropeway) great 1km cable car ride across three stations from Deorali to Tashiling , Institute of Tibetology renowned institute on Tibetan Language & culture.Tashi View Point Excellent sunrise and Kanchenjunga viewing area .Overnight stay at Gangtok
Day 05:Excursion to Tsomgo Lake , Baba Mandir, Nathula pass(optional)
Excursion to Tsomgo Lake ,Baba Mandir,located between Nathula and Jelepla pass at an altitude of 13,123 ft and about 52kms from Gangtok.Dedicated to Harbhajan Singh was a Sentry of Punjab Regiment and was posted here as part of border patrol force. In October 1968 he disappeared while on scout duty.After a few days he reappeared in the dreams of one of his sentry colleagues and asked him to make a memorial here on his name.While Harbhajan Singh is dead since long, his live memories have resulted in several actions from the army which is rarely seen. Out of sheer belief that he his spirit is still around, he has been promoted to the rank of honorary Captain.Nathula pass(optional), is a mountain pass in the Himalayas in East Sikkim district. It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region.Nathula pass is more remembered for battle of Nathula as shown in movie JP Dutta's Paltan.
Day 06:Gangtok to Pakyong Airport
After breakfast ,Start late and check out of hotel and reach Pakyong Airport for your return journey.You trip end here.
