The Phobjikha Valley (also known as Phobjikha and, in the past, Phubjikha.The word kha In Phobjikha means Valley with Dzong(Fort) is a vast U-shaped glacial valley, also known as Gangteng Valley named after the impressive Gangteng Monastery of the Nyingma sect in central Bhutan, where the graceful black-necked cranes in Bhutan (Grus nigricollis) from the Tibetan Plateau visit the valley during the winter season to roost. On arrival in the Phobjikha Valley in the last week of October, the black-necked cranes circle the Gangteng Monastery three times and also repeat the process while returning to The broad valley with its best-known marshland in Bhutan, is popular for its scenic splendour and cultural uniqueness. The valley is rich in biodiversity and natutal Vegetation and has, apart from the globally threatened black-necked cranes Grus nigricollis, 13 other globally threatened species. Within the ambit of the valley, an area of about 163 sq Km has been declared a protected area, which is managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Nature (RSPN), for the protection of nature, authorized to manage, on lease basis, by the Ministry of Agriculture. Phobjikha also is home of Tsechu, the colourful Mask Dance Festival of Bhutan and the Crane Festival welcoming the black-neck cranes in winter months are held every year in the precincts of the Phobjikha Valley, in the Gangten Monastery courtyard. Day 02: Thimphu Local Sightseeing

Day 03: Thimphu to Punakha Transfer
After breakfast transfer to Punakha via Dochula Pass. Punakha is a valley situated at an altitude of about 1200 meters. The place is famous for the picturesque Punakha Dzong (fort). On the way to Punakha stopover at Dochula Pass which offers clear view of Himalayan mountains. You can also stop over at the Royal Botanical Park, Lampelri. This is the first Botanical park in Bhutan and located about 15 Minutes drive away from DoChula Pass.On arrival at Punakha check into the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Punakha
Day 04: Punakha local sightseeing and transfer from Punakha to Phobjikha

As you amble down the trail, you'll come to the wetlands where the famed cranes reside in winter. If you're still feeling adventurous, the nearby villages, local monasteries, and farmhouses are worth a visit. Finally, wrap up the day with a stop at the Black-Necked Crane Information Center. Transfer to Paro overnight stay at Paro.
