Mulkarkha Lake is a natural lake tucked in a remote corner of the forests of the Himalayan foothills of Northern Bengal. The most fascinating feature of this lake is the reflection of Mt. Kanchenjungha on its tranquil waters .
The trek route to Mulkarkha Lake is one of the most exciting and untouched trails of the Himalayan foothills. Guest would come across 200 feet waterfalls, dense forests, enchanting views of Himalayan range, Buddhist monasteries, Hamlets, wide varieties of avifauna, butterflies, orchids and flowers - The Mulkarkha Lake is considered sacred as Manokamana (Wishing) Lake - Scenic beauty around is mesmerising The overall difficulty level of this trek is considered easy and there are numerous options for completing this trek - Generally the starting Point for the Mulkarkha Lake Trek is the small village of Lingzey in West Bengal but one has to reach there via Sikkim - This little Himalayan village has the second largest temple in Darjeeling district - Throughout the year several Hindu festivals are held in the temple complex - The most important among them are the Sawan Bole Bhum, Shivaratri, Durga Puja, and Bala Chaturdasi - There is also a Sanskrit Vidyalaya in Lingzey which stocks rare and valuable books of Hinduism - Other than that, Lingzey also has a Hot Sulphur Spring, few traditional Lepcha Houses and the Rang Bang River These short treks are designed for nature lover - The terrains of Himalayan region are gentle and are the most picturesque trekking sites in world - Popular treks like Sandakphu Trek, Goechala Trek, Green Lake Trek, Yuksom Trek are some of the well known trek route of the region and is more challenging - Few Routes in Dooars / Duars, Kalimpong,, etc are designed for amateur.
It is approximately 110 kilometers and is nearly 4 - 41/2 hours drive - Reach Lingzey - Check into the Home stay / Hotel / Resort - Places of Interest: Hareshwar Shivalaya Mandir & Sanskrit Vidhyalaya, Lepcha Monastery, Traditional Lepcha House, Devi’s Than, Sankhey Dhunga, Dawaipani (Hot water sulphur-rich spring), Rang-Bang River Side Picnic Spot, Sericulture - Night stay at Lingzey
Early morning breakfast - Next introduction with porters and guide- Next they will brief guest of the trek - Start for the trek around 8:00 AM - Next start the trek at slow pace - The trail is 05 kilometers uphill and will take nearly 4 - 5 hours - Reach Jhusing at late afternoon at around 01:00 to 02:00 PM - Check into the Homestay facilities and have lunch - One can relax and get a brief of next day’s trek - Places of Interest: Jhusing View Point, Servang Waterfalls, Mini Micro Hydro Project River Recreation - Night stay at Jhusing Home stay or tent
Early morning visit to Jhusing view point for a mesmerizing sunrise over Himalayan ranges including Mt. Kanchandzonga - Back to Home stay - Complete morning breakfast after packing and freshning up by 08:30 AM - After breakfast at Jhusing and leave for Tagathan - Start around 09:00 AM from Jhusing and leave for Tagathan - Reach Tagathan at 01:00 to 02:00 PM - The trail is 03 kilometers uphill and will take nearly 4 - 4 1/2 hours - Relatively easy trek - Check in at Home stay or tent - Freshen up and have Lunch - Places of Interest at Tagathan are Tagathan Falls, Dhoksingh Falls and nice view of Neora valley National Park - - Night stay at Tagathan Home stay or Tent.
Early morning stroll around Tagathan and visit Tagathan Falls - Back to Home stay / tent or resort - Enjoy the sunrise over Himalayan ranges - Back to Home stay - Complete morning breakfast after packing and freshning up by 08:30 AM - After breakfast at Tagathan and leave for Mulkharka - Start around 09:00 AM and leave for Mulkharka - Reach Mulkharka at 01:00 to 02:00 PM - The trail is 03 kilometers uphill and will take nearly 4 - 4 1/2 hours - Relatively easy trek - Check in at Home stay or tent - Freshen up and have Lunch - Enjoy the lake surroundings and the nearby forested area - Night stay at Mulkharka Tent.
Early morning roam around the area - The best is the reflection of the Himalayan ranmge and specially Mount Kanchendzonga in the lake of Mulkharka - The return will be fast and is roughly 11 kilometers and will be 5 - 6 hours - Early morning breakfast and start at around 09:00 AM - Reach Lingsey / Lingzey via Chota Ramitay Dara (View point), Pithamchin village and Sherpa monastery - Mod way enjoy lunch - Reach Lingzey Checkin and freshen up - Have lunch and rest - Night vstay at Lingsey / home stay.
It is approximately 110 kilometers and is nearly 4 - 41/2 hours drive - One stop at Coronation bridge or at Sevoke bridge for refreshment if time permits.

- The tour takes place through eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites.

- Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
- Pay heed to the tour leaders or instructors in order to enjoy a safe and sound experience.
- Follow instructions given by Trek Leader for safe and pleasant trekking experience.
- Avoid splitting from group as it can be problematic.
You can confirm your booking in our tour by paying a deposit of Rs 10,000/- Per Person.The balance payment shall be paid 15 days prior to the departure of the tour.Balance payment by Cheque will be excepted 15 days prior to the departure of the tour.If any body fails to the balance amount before 15 days, he shall be deemed as cancelled, and the deposit shall not be refunded.If we cancel the tour from the our part, due to insufficient number of passenger or any other reason then we shall refund the full amount of the tour, hence we will not be responsible for the cancellation charges applicable for train/air tickets.But if we are forced to cancel the tour due to the natural calamities like flood, riots, bandhs, strikes etc.then we shall refund the tour cost after deducting 10% as our service charge for making the necessary arrangements for your tour.
